In my experience, wheel bearings are never easy. After the wheel and brake apparatus is removed, try renting a "bearing puller" from a local autoparts store (I rented one from NAPA, I believe). Application of penetrating grease, such as WD-40, or heating via propane torch may also be helpful in loosening a stuck bearing. I would consider this a two person job. Don't be shy about applying force to a stuck bearing. Leverage is key!
