82 Toyota P/U how to get the Carburetor to fit properly? HELP

1982 Toyota P/U. brand new Carburetor and gaskets, the new Carb. and gasket does not raise the Carb. up enough and it gets in the way of other parts of the engine..is there some special way or special gasket i am supposed to do/buy to get it to fit properly?
