86 chev and possible starter problem

Question by cokehubby Reward: 25 Pond Points + 10 Knowledge Tokens Status: Pending a resolution
I have an 86 chev with a 79 350 in it. I have replaced the starter numerous times and always have the same problem. I've changed the fusable link and still, my truck won't start. It runs for a day or so when I change the starter, and then stops again. Any ideas what is wrong?

Is it trying to turnover at all or is it just dead?
Sounds like a bad ground that is draining your battery.
If your starter has chewed up teeth it could be your flywheel.
