86 chev pickup won't run more than a day with new starter.

Question by cokehubby Reward: 25 Pond Points + 10 Knowledge Tokens Status: Pending a resolution
I have an 86 chev with a 79 350 in it. I have replaced the starter numerous times and always have the same problem. I've changed the fusable link and still, my truck won't start. It runs for a day or so when I change the starter, and then stops again. Any ideas what is wrong?

first check the battery and cables. if they look good then i would check the ignition switch. if the ignition switch keeps power to the solenoid on the starter then it will burn it up.
