Are vaporizers and humidifiers the same thing?

a vaporizer puts moisture into the air. When you have a cold and itis hard to breathe, a vaporizer with vicks in it helps you breath.A humidifier also adds moisture to the air but I don't know if they are set up to add medicine when you have a cold.
