I am sorry for your loss, I also have birds for many years, many rehab birds that are hard to handle, I feel if your bird is able to be handled, now would be the time to handle him more, allow more freedoms about the house, bring him closer to you, as you would a child that suffered a lost. I feel all purchasing another set of birds will acomplish is more work and aggervation for you and your bird, along with the feeling of not only loosing his mate but the seperation of now not only sad and lost but now being replaced just feeding his depression. The next step woudl be to start pulling feathers and or self mutlations. when it gets this advanced it is a long term fulltime rehab, most times not sucessfull. in short just love him through it as you would any of your children and be paitent.
Good Luck, and God bless. I request No Reward these are just my thoughts on the matter |
