DVD-ROM problem

My DVD-ROM can only read cd but not dvd? explain why and how to solve this problem? please reply

Does the DVD you are trying to read work in other dvd drives? Have you tried reading different dvds or just one? It may be scratched.

I should also mention that the course of action is to determine if the drive itself is faulty, the dvd is bad, or if there is a driver issue.

Try other DVDs, or try in a new player.

The dvd has a lens problem it can not read tiny pixe on the dvd plate. So try to change it with new one.
