Engine not heating up to requeried temp.

I have a 93 ranger p-u. The engine will not heat up. I've replaced & checked the thermostat twice with no results. Idleing it will warm up some but once reved up will barely move off the cold mark. Any ideas? Heater also will blow cool air.

check your water pump. it may not be circulating.

if you put your hand on the heater hoses going into the firewall and the one is hot, its either heatercore needs replacing or a vaccum leak preventing the heater flap from opening , also check make sure linkage inside to control box is working properly
