GAS NEEDLE STAY ON EMPTY

i have a 2005 SSR chevrolet truck. 385 hrp corvette engine,i just PUT 80.00$ of gas in the thank but the needle stay on empty,can it be a fuze or can it be that the cap is strip out and wont seal properly?

May be the fuel level sensor in the gas tank or a sticky needle on the dash indicator. Could also be faulty wiring between the sensor and indicator.
