Gas pedal sticks

Question by djtacoman Reward: 150 Pond Points + 10 Knowledge Tokens Status: Answered
My gas pedal sometimes gets stuck. So far, I've only noticed this on hot days. Is there a connection between the temperature outside and the functioning of my gas pedal?

djtacoman,

I have experienced the same problem as you. The issue turned out to be some carbon buildup along the air intake valve. It is an easy fix (probably about a 2 on a scale of 1 to 10). If you are comfortable doing it yourself, then you can save a considerable amount of money.

These are the instructions I followed:

Be sure to use the toothbrush to remove all the buildup since that is what is causing the pedal to stick. I would recommend trying this without the carburator cleaner first, and if that doesnt work, then go ahead and use the carb cleaner.

Good luck!
