As long as you have NOT taken posetion of the property, then a lease you won't be breaking. Just as the lanlord can do the same (re-nig) on an aggreement he may have made with you. Untill actuall posession of said property is exchanged there hasn't been a lease, yet.
no, if you signed a lease and accepted the key you have technically taken possesion of the apt, how ever yes you can break it you will be responsible for the rent or a portion of it that it takes the landlord to "re-let it", and the landlord has to really try to rent it, by showing proof of running ad in paper or similer manner, you can be held responsible for the cost of such ad, but this is providing you signed a lease and accepted the keys to said apartment, if nothing signed or no keys, he has what is called verbal contract, or intent of rental contract, but remember if u had keys to place u can break it, but ur responsible for the time it takes to fill a lease with other, providing land lord can prove they are actively trying to rent it, hope this helps
why not try and talk to the landlord.bugger all the advice and stuff TALK and comunicate with the landlord explain your situation and most people aint monsters.if people learnt to comunicate more the world would have less problems.good luck. why sigm the lease in the first place.
