Goat castration.

I have a three week old pygmy goat. What is the best age to castrate, and the best method? Thanks!

now would be a great time. we did our cows from anywhere from three days on. the easiest cleanest method is to use a rubber band. grab both testicles in the scrotum and make sure you have them both, and wrap the rubber band around the top of the scrotum. the animal only feels a little discomfort at first. but then the scrotum and testicles will rot and fall off without any pain involved. i have done it with a razor knife, which is fast, but it is messy.

a rubber band but not just an ordinary one you can get them from your local vet/farm supplier they are very small and work very well
