Have Toshiba television 52" DLP turns itself on and off. No picture,only volume

I have a Toshiba 52"DLP television and our problem is when we try to turn it on there is no picture and hear the volume but then shuts itself on a off. We had a new light put in a little over a year ago.

The television will not even turn on anymore.
