Help with key errors please

How do I get rid of the t5y6ping problem where the t5 gets a 5 and vise versa, y gets a y6 delete is a backspace, tab is an apostrophe,dash comes with bracket. My keying is messed up. I have run virus scans, ad-ware,reg-cure and rebooted many times. I need help on where the problem is coming from.

It is most likely a hardware issue. have you tried using another keyboard?

You might try removing your keyboard from the hardware panel and rebooting, waiting until it has reboot and then replug in the keyboard it might be a driver error.

Have you spilled anything on it? That will cause shorts too...

This is an occasional issue that happens with laptops. If you can find a USB keyboard, try to plug that in and see if the issue persists. If it does, then it is a software problem as you suspected. If not, then it is a hardware issue with your built-in keyboard. If you are comfortable with repairing your laptop, you can order a new keyboard for your laptop. You may be able to find it on eBay for much less than what the manufacturer would charge. Otherwise, you can probably send it in to your manufacturer for repair, but expect the price to be very high for that.

If you don't mind using a USB keyboard in extension of your laptop that may be a cheaper alternative.
