How long before a wedding date should the invitations be sent out?

My daughter is getting married in March of 2009. When should the wedding invitations be sent out?

at least a month or two to give them time to respond so you can properly account for seats and food. Key west was a great place.

If you send out a save the date note, as early as possible, and then your invitation a month or two in advance, your GOLDEN!

In fairness, mail gets lost, dates get forgotten, by the average single male, and often females as well, so it's best to do two mailings, to account for the human condition.
