I dont know if I had an anxiety attack and would like to know what one really is

The other night I wasnt feeling so well, my chest hurt really bad and I was scared for some weird reason. It was almost like I couldnt breath and my chest was being pushed in. I almost went to the emergancy room but I decided not to. Was this an "anxiety attack"?

It could be but those may also be signs for a heart attack.
A panic attack is more likely to happen in an outing with stress, than at home alone .I suspect a heart attack.
It is safer to call 911 and get an ambulance than driving or taking a taxi, since the ambulance has some equipment to take care of the patient before he/she gets to the ER. Learn more about panic attack.
