I purchased a Pyle wired FM modulator to add an MP3 player to my radio. It has an electrical connector I am not familiar with. It is a hollow cone on one end that apparently slips into a metal cylinder on the other end and then is crimped. Do I split the 12 volt wire to the radio, cut one of the wires strip it back on both ends, twist the ends back together and feed that into the cone end of the connector, slip that into the cylinder and crimp it down? What is the name of this connector? Maybe I can find some info. on google.

the connector is not a feed wire.if it is similar to tv aerial connector DO NOT put 12 volt into it.
if it is similar to 12 plugs,ie 12 supply for pc, usually the centre pin is positive.
do double check cos if you feed 12 volt into wrong input pop goes your unit.
