I am looking to purchase a used bmw 325ci convertible, and I was wondering what kindo f repairs in dollars am I looking at down the road. I plan on maybe keeping it for a year or two and then trading it in before I have real issues. I have never owned a BMW in the past. However I have been wanting to own one and now I have the opportunity to do so.

i would think that 80,ooo miles is not a whole lot of miles, i would check and smellthe tranny fluid to make sure it looks and smells ok,if it smells burnt could be a problem with tranny, check the radiator for any type of white frothy build up, if it has any white frothy looking stuff in radiator or on the inside of the rad cap that is a sure sign of oil getting into the radiator, check under vehicle for oil drips or leaks, check oil dipstick for discoleration, IE; blue-ish color on it for any sign of a recent overheating issue, check make sure all fuses are all good, if these points that you inspect all seem to be in good condition, i would think that it would for sure go a few more years with-out any major issues, also check on-line for a free price guide to tell you the value so you are not charged to much for this car, here are a cpl of sites you can check;

hope these help

the suspension bushes and parts are rather expensive to replace on these cars so give all suspension parts a good looking over as at 80 000 they nay have worn all depends on how car was driven before
