How long does it take for someone to not be able to get persecuted after having had sex with a minor after the crime has been committed?

The statute of limitations (or time limit that someone can be legally prosecuted) for sex crimes varies by state. For a list of the limitations in each state where there is DNA evidence of the crime check out:
