Life Insurance Question

Question by jpd Reward: Log in to view Status: Points refunded
I have life insturance with my company. I was in the process of quiting smoking when I joined the company and verbally elected non-smoking rates. Subsequently, when providing my paper work to my employer I advised them in writing (noted on form) that I had started smoking again. They never changed the rate to smoker rates. I was in the process of quiting for a couple months and then finally quit for good (a couple of months after starting employment). My question is will I receive benefits if I die from a heart related (potentially smoking related) disease?

Clarification by jpd
PS: I have not had a smoke in almost 2 years.
