My 1992 Dodge Stealth often won't start even though all power accessories work

Question by Leatherman355 Reward: Log in to view Status: Pending a resolution
I have a 1992 Dodge Stealth RT Turbo with 129,000 miles on it. Recently the car will not start when it is cold; the a/c comes on, the radio works, the guages work, the power doors - lock and the power windows work, the car will not crank, it makes no buzzing noises or whining noises - no noise at all. If the car is warmed up, it usually starts. The battery is two years old and the car has a rebuilt starter that's six months old. The car has never given me any problems in the 4 1/2 years I've had it. I'm thinking that the neutral safety switch is bad but my mechanic and a Mitsubishi dealership can't seem to find the problem because for them it starts every time. Any ideas?

Have you checked the main relay? If the solder contacts are bad, this may cause the car to not start based on temperature. Also check other relays as well. You can refer to this site for tips on how to test the main relay:

Please post back with the results so that we can further troubleshoot...

Does it have an ignition kill style alarm? May be a bad relay in that system.
