Need to crack a code

Question by missie500 Reward: 100 Pond Points + 10 Knowledge Tokens Status: Pending a resolution
I have an 9 yr.old RCA television and I put a 4 digit code on the parental control. I just took it out of storage after three years. Needless to say, I forgot the code. On top of this, I dont have the original remote and bought a universal one which has gone haywire. Is there any way I can be helped?

Try unplugging the tv. Press and hold on the power button. Turn on the tv while still pressing the power button until the tv gives a visual indication that it is resetting. This may not work on all rca tvs.
