Need to know the connections done from the DVD writer to the motherboard.

I want to know the connections which are done from the dvd writer to the motherboard. I can see that there are 2 wires. One is the SATA power and the other is the SATA signal. Where can I find the S ATA 1port or SATA 2 port on the motherboard?
Also where should the SATA power cable from the dvd writer be conneted?

Your motherboard manual should show where the SATA connectors are. If you don't have a manual, they shouldn't be too difficult to locate by just looking around. Same goes for the power cables. If you give more details about the computer or the motherboard, I might be able to find the manual online for you.
