O2 sensor replacement with different wiring

I have a 2000 volvo S80 2.9 . I have a check engine light on, and it surge to around 1000rpm every 10 seconds when on gear. My O2 sensors are 5 wires. can it be replaced by a cheaper version of 1, 2, or 3 wires as 5wires are extremely expensive. thanks
