What is meant by occupational health and safety?

Occupational health and safety relate to health and safety at the work place and the purpose is to protect workers from possible injuries by avoiding dangerous situations set by standart rules. It includes checking for hazardous chemicals at a work place , or for ways to minimize the possibility of accidents such as during construction work or other safety issues at the work place. It also includes looking for the presence of easy access to exits and water in case of fires, and make sure that all the safety issues abide to the standards rules.
