Rear main seal

I have a VN 5.0ltr Berlina i dont want to take out the engine to fix the rear main seal. Cant i just drop the transmission?

mine is an auto does it make a difference?

you can but it is real hard to realign your first motion shaft back into the clutch centre like that.

still have to line up shaft witc centre bearing and with auto the box is so much heavier unless you got garage hoist easier to remove whole lot sorry.it can be done but its a struggle and the probvabiltiy of damaging somthing is quite high.you need plenty strength to do it in place allso its so heavy people could get hurt.
