Discuss the reasons why common sense tells us that the momentum of a car will not continue if we turn the car off. Why is our common sense incorrect in this case?

i think the idea that the car will stop is slightly wrong.my common sense tells me that innertia and momentum will enable the car to carry on for a while whilst slowing down and eventually stopping.
depends on a persons education perception and general knowledge as to what point of view they take on common sense.
i think the word common sense is wrong as it isnt common as in common to all the people.
