WHY DO PEOPLE ASK QUESTIONS ?

Why do people ask questions, offer points for correct answers, and do not even have the decency to pick a question that they accept as "the correct answer" ? I PERSONALLY THINK THAT IS JUST WRONG!!!!! I understand some people get on here, sign up, and ask a legitimate question, and maybe their computer breaks down, or they forgot the password they used to sign up with the site, so they can pick someone's answer as correct, that I can understand, but the thing that gets me the most, is, that you see some people ask a question, and they never give anyone the "CORRECT ANSWER" reward, You see that they are on here asking other questions, and even answering other peoples questions, however the questions that they ask, they are "PENDING RESOLUTION" and never give the "reward" to anyone for the question they asked for an answer to!!!!! can you imagine the scoreboard points if every one actually "AWARDED" the said points to the person with the "CORRECT ANSWER" If every question was "awarded" and they never went to the "PENDING RESOLUTION" status, even if it was awarded 2 weeks after the question was closed!!!! probably very very high knowledge points out there then huh.... just something to think about,

No dave sorry was not refering to you chemical injector question, sorry if you thought i was, i am so sorry, I was not, i was just going thru some of my account and repliy questions, and well over half of them are pending resolution,

Hey leaky i guess i think i understand part of your answer, lol, and agree, that maybe if people don't give the "reward" then maybe they should be possibly put on a list, so maybe the rest of us that do take the time to answer their question could save our time and just not answer their questions in future, but i think that would only get a few people to "reward" the answer, as i can not be sure, but probly 85% of the "pending resolution" question are by one time questioners, but it would be nice to get even half of them rewards huh, that'd be nice
lol, i see that it rattled your cage and you infact "rewarded" a user with the points to a question that was in the "pending resolution" file, asked quite a while ago, lol, no biggy,
not pointing finger at you really tho, when i posted the question, but lol, i guess there was one out there huh, lol
i'd just like to know how many "knowledge points" us in the leaderboard have in possible points out there "pending resolution", not to mention those good people like roaming that are trying to get enuff to be on the leaderboard, as all can see i have replied to 388 questions, and got 40 "correct answers" that means 348 are either wrong answers, or simply "pending resolution" which as i can see from "my reply list, that approx 80% are "pending resolution, And like i said that is just my answers, lol, multiply that by yours, dave roamings, and all the others, WOW.. that is a whole heck of alot of wasted time trying to help someone that has no intention of rewarding anyone for the help, lol, .
no biggy, like i said, just got looking at my replies, and started scratching my head, thinking wow, if even half of these were "rewarded" to anyone, the "knowledge points" scores could be alot different huh lol, thats all,
But thanks again for answering one that you had posted a while back lol.
maybe "answerpond" could take all the "pending resolution" questions, and split the 10 points between all that answered each question, {so like for each question that was/is "pending resolution" if their was 3 people that had answered that question, they would all 3 of them get 3 knowledge points, and just throw the 1 extra point away} even if they split the points, that would change alot of point level huh, lol,..
I am in no way complaining, however, it might sound like it, but it just made me wonder when i was goin thru my reply list, thats all just a head scratcher!!!! thats all, sorry if i rustled any feathers, just got me wondering, thats all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

well, if it is not a satifactory answer that is one thing, however, this was not as i just said, was not singleing you out, but i do beleive that you just awarded me the correct answer on two questions, that were strictly asked to me, and i gave what i thought was the correct answer, and they both went to pending resolution and i kept asking if the answer was the right one, and never no "clarification" so i had no idea, just answered the way i thought was the correct answer in my mind to question posed, so again, thank you, but it was not directed at anyone, i stated many times, that it just made me think of all the un answered questions out there, and not sure if there was a correct answer to this question, but i will pick one to be correct, even tho i not know what the correct one would be, so again, thanks and not singleing anyone out, just asked question in general, there are many people that ask and answer others, that have some pending

OK, Every one, Like I said, I was not sure what if any answer I was looking for, and/or needed, And I definatly did not mean this to point fingers at any ONE person in particular,
AND I THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH for the ANSWERS, And COMMENTS that I received for and about this issue,

I need to "AWARD" someone with the "knowledge points", {for this question/comment}
And would kinda like to know what all of you would do, if you had to "pick one as correct",
since they are all very good answers/comments, and it did eventually get the "issue at hand" brought up to the "answerpond owners/moderators" {thanks to leaky}
But I definatly do not want to make Dave, Leaky, Roaming or Grammie MAD/DISGRUNTLED at me, for not choosing "their" answer as the correct one, {Even though I know they WON"T be mad at me}
So I wondered what you FINE FOLKS would do?
I am kinda thinking that since Grammie has ZERO "knowledge points" and is new to this, maybe I should choose hers as correct answer, just so she can get started with "10 knowledge points",
And will also answer her question on how this site and the points work....

{As of today, "9-15-2009" I have 13 and 1/2 days to decide}
I will understand, If no one wants to give their thoughts on this, {as you don't want your opinion/thought to make any one else mad at you for your thought process on how you would give the points}
But, Like I said, I appreciate and value all of the comments/answers, on this issue,
