I have a zenith 55" Plazma tv model # pdp50x30010. The screen went dim (darker and hard to see. What could cause this and is it worth fixing it?

depends on the age on the Tv...sounds like your picture is going out...

oh dear notg roving insomnikac AGAIN.
i am sorry to imform you that by the sounds of it your screen needs regassing.this is to be expected with plasma screen and honest salesman should have told you this.you cant do it youself it is a back to the dealler job.
ps... roving insomniac get some sleep.
