How often does she act like she is choking? All of the time? Once in a while? Does she cough anything up? What has she been chewing on or eating that could get caught in her throat? Could it be that she has been chewing on one of those plastic soft chew toys that sqeek? Those can be dangerous and pieces can lodge in her throat and cause choking. They could cause suffication. Or it could be a piece of dry dog food just caught on side of her throat. She needs to be looked at by a VET to see if something is caught or if she is sick. It could be a simple bananna lable, stuck in there and later cause lung problems. Only a VET could know with a visit. It is natural to eat grass if her throat hurts, but this will cause vomiting. That is the only way she knows how to dislodge it or soothe the sore throat. It sounds like she might have eaten a small, hard piece of toy, cat food or something she found on the floor. She may eventually get it caughed up. I would take her to the Vet for a closer look.

As long as she is still eating and drinking she is going to do what seems natural for her to do. Let her eat the grass. At her yearly physical mention it to your vet.
