Where can I find the remote " receiver" on a car?

Where can I find the Receiver in a car with electronic/remote locks. Say Dodge intrepid.

They can be in different places. Most likely in the passenger side kick panel or behind the glove box if it's factory. Dodge also uses KARR brand alarm systems which are usually installed at the dealer. The module for the KARR alarm should be under the dash on the driver side.
