if tizz petrol then lots of money headgasket more than likely gone is there loss of compression.
if tiz a biesel well less money but still money could be fuel injecttor pump needs adjusting or yup maybe head gasket look in radiator filler if tis all murky and either oily or a creamy emulsion then head gasket buggerd.

Typically what causes this condition is a valve stuck open somewhat, worn piston rings can cause the same condition as well. have qualified tech. run compression test which is easy as it is done thru spark plug hole. very inexspensive test with a wealth of knowledge.

a stuck valve wont cause smoking like that. tiz rubbish.i am a engineer and inventor,99 peercent sure the headgasket is gone or head warped due to overheating.look in radiator what is on top of the coolant what colour and consisancy is it,rub yr finger in exhaust what is on yr finger and what colour

dont need compression test you will hear valve stuck open sounds like tractor rough n the like.
white smoke is vapourised h2o in the exhaust caused by a leak of fluid from where it should be to where it shouldnt be.HAVE HEAD GASKET CHECKED.

Leakywelly is on the right track. White smoke is coolant in the cylinder. Could be head gasket or cracked head. Get the engine up to runnig temp. Shut off for about an hour. Pull spark plugs and crank engine. Bet ya get coolant out of at least one cylinder.
