Why not use coffee grounds?

Coffee grounds are questionable to add to a compost pile. Does anyone know why?

I have not heard that they are questionable to add to compost pile. We are always told to put the coffee grounds in the garden around the plants. It seems the plants love it but I really don't think it hurts a complost pile. Where did you hear this. If everything in the compost pile can go into the garden, then so can coffee be added to compost pile.
