i heve had acid reflux for 1 week following a few large glasses of wine. i have taken zantac for last 3 days, with good effect. i now feel like i have something stuck in my throat (voicebox area) no pain, just feels like there is something swolen or stuck. what could this be & is it possiable that the acid reflux has inflammed the voice box, making it swolen & give a sensation of something being stuck?h good effect

The acid reflux which brings acid from the stomach to the esophagus can get in the trachea (throat) . Acid may have damaged the lining of the trachea and it may be swollen or an ulcer may be present which sometimes make swollowing or talking difficult. If it is a mild condition it should get better in 2-3 days . If it does not improve or if it reccurs , it will be necessary to get it checked to assess the damage. It will help to avoid talking for now in order to avoid more irritation . Alcohol and Zantac do not mix and alcohol should be banned . Also coffee, tea ,sodas , spices and citrus fruits do increase acidity .I hope you will get better soon and you will know how to avoid that in the future.
