if ceramic tiles are 8" x 8", how many tiles would it take to cover an area 4' x 6'?

should be 54...realizing that you'll have waste from trimming due to floor layout and the space taken up by the grout...but DON'T FORGET to get extra in case you either a) mess up on a cut or b) something happens down the road and you need to replace some tiles due to chipping or breaking after it's installed as what you buy today will most likely be discontinued in the future so finding replacement tile that matches will be impossible...
