automatic renault megane car fault

i have a problem with my car. its a y reg automatic renault megane 5 door. the gearbox light on the dash board keeps coming on when i go on the motorway.
today i took the car to the garage to have the gearbox fluid drained and re-filled. and when i returned the machanic told me that the car now wont drive forward, so i had to leave it there. can anyone help in telling me what might be wrong????
