yep, blood doesnt protect you from sperm, id the cum gets inside you then yes you can become pregnant.

its not very pleasent though having sex while on your period... if its heavy that is.

Yes you can still get pregnant while on your period, most women while on their period release more than one egg... As an egg is no longer needed it breaks down and gives you your period, no egg break down at the same time so there is till a possiblity to get pregnant, even more so the older you get and the more eggs your body releases.
