can i get a new fish

i have to fish a fantail and a goldfish they are about 2 years old
i want to get a new fish a fantail but they only sell baby ones is it ok to get a small one with the adults ther not that big though the adults the baby is about this legth-------------------- the adults are----------------------------------------------

You can get your new fish but keep it in a seperate bowl untill it grows a bit, then combine with the older ones.

I love how you showed us the size of the fish...
When you go to the pet store you will notice in some tanks that some fish are in separate cages, these are the fighting fish.
They are separate cos they will attack other fish, make a similar see though box with holes and let the fish live in a separate part of the tank - after it grows a little release it in to the tank.
