From my understanding, the only way you can have any wild animal as a pet is if you have a special license. I have a friend who owns a wildlife refuge and that is what he told me.

yes you can have a lepord as a pet but you would have to get a pecial license and raise it fron a cub.

Contact your local fish and game to obtain the info and application for specific animals. Some animals are legal in certain states, others are not. A lepeord is considered a wild animal and requires a permit, fee, and you must be able to show you have the means to keep not only the animal safe in a close to natural habitat, but that there is no possibilities of it escaping and harming people. These permits are hard to get. Usually only granted when you can show good cause to have it (like it can not live on its own in the wild or was abanded) and you will have to prove you will be obtaining it legally from a legitamate source. If where ad who you obtain it from is legal, they will have all the necessary info for you to legally own it. Remeber though these words of caution:"A wild animal will always be wild and unpredictable" "If you are found in posession of an exotic or wild animal you will face prosecution and spend time in jail/prison among animal cruelty charges".
