1995 gmc pickup. the battery is dead every morning. the battery tests good and the alterinator tests good. I have to jump it to start it and the starter sounds good . Can the starter draw the battery down every night.

it is possible for the starter to draw down the battery. it can even make the battery go bad. the best way to tell if you have a draw off of the battery is to remove the negative battery cable or even positive battery cable, but only do one. then connect a test light in between the battery cable and the battery. if the light comes on the you have a draw. make sure the key switch is off when you do this. now, if the light comes on then you have a draw. the easiest way to see where the draw is coming from is to pull the fuses one at a time until the light test light goes out. when you pull the fuse and the light goes out that is the circuit that is drawing the battery down.

crap a starter wont flatten battery unless it is going round.solenoind stop currnt when not neded.
