car has been sitting unused, what repairs necessary

I have a 1998 car that has been sitting in an impound lot for 21 months. It was running fine prior to being impounded. What repairs will likely be needed to get the car in running condition once it is released?

the best place to start is to replace the battery. the second thing would be to drain all of the gas, and replace the fuel filter. of course you will probably need new wiper blades. also the air in the tires will need to be checked, and the tires themselves will need to be checked to make sure they are not dry rotted. it usually isnt that big of deal that they sit that long, but you do need to keep an eye on it once it is running. oh yeah, before you attempt to start it, check the oil and radiator coolant level.
