car keeps jerking when driving

what is wrong with my car. i have a vauxhall astra year 2000 and recently i have noticed that when i am driving smoothly along at around 40-50 miles per hour in 4th or 5th gear, the car sometimes starts to jump, i describe it as rabbiting down the road. it feels like there is not enough fuel getting through or something. i have had the car for just over 2 years and not had it serviced yet. could it just be a blockage that just may need cleaning?

had car serviced yesterday and everything seemed to be fixed, although, today i have been out in the car and it has done the same thing twice. i was told it could be the coil that may be going but its so expensive to fix. any ideas are welcome. please help.

the mechanic i saw who serviced the car did a diagnostic test as i already explained the problem to him and no errors or faults came up on the system. no warning lights are coming up on the dashboard and not overheating. just really strange that this is happening and no-one can find out what it is.

It is most likely a fuel blokage, but not having it serviced for about 2 years would be the most problem.
PS also it could be dirty Plugs but a good service will sort it out. Alan.

the best thing to do before replacing any parts is to have a knowledgeable mechanic test the coil and a few other sensors before replacing anything. trial and error can get very expensive very fast.
