While the military is certainly an option for some young people, I wouldn't join in haste. You could meet with a recruiter to explain your options. I would however also meet with someone at your local community college. You be surprised how cheap it is <$800 a semester and you can get aid that covers that and more. Now I am not a fan of student loans, but only take what you "need" and get a good education out of it.

Go to truck school it's the best thing I ever did..... freedom and money and adventure. Construction vehicles...cement mixer...truck and trailer TrenchPlateRental. or UnitedRentals...hint don't take long haul unless it' to get experience for local. A great way to start is seeing what you're made of and being paid for it.
