diet for stomach cancer patient

My father was diagnosed with stomach cancer 8 months ago. His small intestine was used to create a pouch which acts like a stomach. Due to his current condition, does anyone know what type of diet he should follow in order to try to help his immune system?

he should try out a low-residue,high fiber diet and he should stay away from refined foods,high carbohydrate and fatty meals. Vegetables are actually good but it may increase his BM(bowel movement).

eat some soft food no spicy food

my grandma had lung and stomach cancer so yaeh eat soft food not spicy
