| I guess you mean for a door in a house. In which country ? If you mean for a door going into a house, that might be different to an internal door. It might also depend on if its a new build or whether you're talking about an old house. There are Building Regulations, and Access Requirements, so these specifications depend on these sorts of things, and change quite often. Then it becomes a question of, "Well, it met spec when it was built, do I have to do anything about it now even though it now doesn't meet spec." (Usually, No, but the same sorts of things happen with Electrical Regulations and safety is a prime factor). So, having said all that, if you search on the net using "Building Regulations" and "Minimum doorway height" you might track it down, but would it be up-to-date ? Getting hold of up-to-date building regs is not expensive, but if you can get hold of a builder that you can trust you could ask him. I think (UK) that you can contact your local council, planning permissions, and ask them a question like this. |
