my dryer is not getting hot

Your heater coil could be blown, the problem with me recommending anything at all for you to work on would be that dryers are traditionally 240 V and VERY dangerous potentially. If it is old and out of warranty you can try at your own risk to see if the coil is getting voltage, perhaps the regulator is blow. However I personally would recommend either having a professional work on it, or perhaps it is time to upgrade to a new/used dryer. You could find one on craigslist for $100 or cheaper.
