why does the poteneial difference remains same as emf of the circuit in normal circuit?

the term emf is misnomer.emf means the force that pushes the electrons in circuit.since emf does not have simple electrostatic origin .so the concept of potential is not strictly applicable.it has the nature of work done per unit charge and that of force
