file error

my computer keeps sayin files missin and aslo file errors im just wonderin is there any free stuff on the web for my problem if not could i put my xp disk in and re do my computer will all files be fix

It sounds like you might be infected with a virus, when is it saying it is missing these files on boot up? You could insert a recovery disk, or the XP disk and repair your install which will replace the files missing. However if you do have a virus it will continue to happen. You should, if you do not already have one, install a virus program and update it and do a full scan. If that still comes up with nothing I would probably recommend backing up data and reinstalling. Hunting down a virus is never fun, and it could cost you data in the long run.
