I beleive the answer is probly not. If so, They would have to be frozen very fast. A regular freezer would kill them before completely freezing them. As the freezing process freezes the water in a tissue, or such, much faster than the tissue itself, and that the formation of ice crystals would rip and tear the other tissues apart, I have heard of Scorpians, And "pill" worms,{Rollie Pollies} that had been froze and upon thawing about half have survived the freeze/thaw cycle, But this was told to me back in my high school years, And froze with a dry ice freeze, Or other very rapid freezing process, And our residential refrigeraters can not freeze anything that fast as to not have a rip or tear effect on the tissues in the critter, So I gotta beleive the answer would be NO., Here is a site with many people telling or posting their conclutions on freezing our friendly little pests/bugs lol.. Here is some reading for you; That i found on the internet for you;; www.arachnoboards.com/ab/archive/index.php/t-26581.html
And below, Is basically the same board, But with the peoples names and the sites they have used to explain the post they left; http://www.arachnoboards.com/ab/showthread.php?t=26581
Hope these help, However, I beleive the answer is NO, But try it for your self to be 100% sure, As they are cheap and not gonna risk anything by trying it..., Just put a dozen or so in a tupperware bowl with a few small breather holes in it,{as if they will need the breathing holes, lol} and see what happens..
Good luck, And have a great weekend!!!, And happy freezing, LOL.. |
