The harmonic balancer came off my 2001 dodge ram 1500 series. will it wreck the rear end if I don't replace it?

A harmonic balancer serves as a vibration dampener for the engine. It shouldnt do damage to the rear end, but without it, it could do damage to the bearings in the lower end of the engine which can get costly to repair based on the severitry of the damage.
